Well poop – just checked the Fresno City ordinances and apiaries are a no go. I’ll have to wait until I get a more rural property down the line, BUT would still love any information/wisdom ahead of time so I can get that started when the time comes!
Meanwhile there are several road side stands around that sell local raw honey… will just…

I look forward to what you discover. In the Anastasia books, she talks about a way to make a hive from an old log. You should be able to run a search for Anastasia bee hive design. I’m so stoked! Spring is hands down my favorite season. Still time for another cold snap here, but it sure feels like and early spring. Was in my yard taking elderberry cuttings yesterday and there are so many signs of life! Especially thrilled to see a bunch of my fall planted berry bushes survived and are starting to put on buds.

Yes, zone 8. Our weather can flux so much, but as Gerald noted…the signs are certainly here for an early spring. I love it, too. Nice to see some sunny blue skies as well.

Gardening 2 years agoHow fun is it to offer bits and bobs from the fall a chance to start anew this spring? I really think this daikon is my spirit vegetable personality-wise!
