State of The World 9 months agoOkay everyone in this state of the world, how many of you are using Linux for your desktop PC? I currently have Windows 10 but apparently it won’t be supported after October 2025. I don’t want Windows 11, so I’m looking to get help replacing Windows in my PC with only Linux. Just wondering what you all think about totally getting away…

Mike made a good comment about AI. My nephew who works in the computer field tells me AI is a good thing, just another way to program computers. He thinks I worry too much. Yes a stupid AI program messed up our initial home loan last year by misinterpreting data we sent in, resulting in an improper credit rating and thus a higher rate than we should have. I think AI as a tool can be quite handy and has a ton of great use cases such as handling menial data tasks that humans have historically have had to do (accounting, inventory management, database collation, etc) but like any technology, needs human oversight and ethical systems of use to ensure it isn’t being used to trespass against others.
