I just discovered the benefits of rubbing the cut side of a fig on your face 😀 One of my new passions as I transition from remaining store bought beauty products! 🧴

Gardening a year agoMaitake growing out of my woodchips! Crazy big, like 15″ diameter, 8.2 lbs. I had inoculated some chips a few years back without much hope and lo and behold a mother of all maitakes! I have been making happy hobbit delights: sourdough toast, caramelized onions, grilled maitake with sage, topped with greyere for my hobbit friends!

It can be quite involved, but the basics are setting up a team that involves Nature, Pan (as the Great Mediator), and the gardener(s). And then querying Nature, Pan and other nature spirits for…

Gardening a year agoAphids on fruit trees! Anyone have recommendations on how to prevent them and treat? I have been using lady bugs and spraying the leaves w unscented soap + water, have electroculture. I amended the soil with azomite, worm castings, and mulched around the tree. Would love to hear your tips!

Krista, a couple years ago I saw a YouTube video of a Canadian tree grower who said aphid infestations can be a sign of overwatering. That’s all I know.

Try a gentle water mist on affected plants EVERY day, and be sure to get the undersides of the leaves. Aphids love new growth, so if you’re consistent they should disappear. As nature is designed, aphids will typically attack less than vital plants, so tune-in to see if they are lacking in any way. In Bioterrain care, the focus is always on…
