Let’s move to the Land! 5 weeks agoI’m currently in Kelseyville, Lake County in CA, temporarily only until October. Still no closer to a next place to reside since the fire at my place in Seattle June 23rd. I want to check out Redwoods areas. Missing the rainforests. Any ideas of livable towns? Anyone with a residence on their homestead type place? Feeling pretty dire.

Sarah, we’ve spent some time in southern oregon and really like the Applegate area. Lots of budding homesteaders and a growing community of AlfaVedic folks.

Sarah, there are a ton of former cannabis grows in the redwoods in Southern Humboldt county as well as Northern Mendocino that are for sale for relatively cheap. You would need to do your diligence because there is a wide variety of conditions that they were left in. But if you’re not afraid of a little bit of clean up work there are some gems…

Follow your dream … the Universe favors the risk-takers! Arkansas was on our shortlist when we relocated to the mainland from Hawaii, as it ticked off many of the attributes we were looking for. Our job is to be guided to where we are meant to be to anchor in the light for the next generation … it looks like you’ve done a good job bringing them in.

Let’s move to the Land! 11 months agoAnyone in California. How do you do it? I know @alfawarrior and @barre are there. I grew up there but left in 2008. I’m currently in Florida but want to move. We just visited California. Grass Valley/Nevada City and Truckee. We are missing the mountains.
We would go to California in a heartbeat if it wasn’t for all the politics…-

I’m with you Jenny. We are looking to move to. I have 2 teenage sons and worry about them finding friends (including girlfriends) and community. We want the nature but how far out is too far? Best of luck to us both.

Hi friends, does anyone have any suggestions when it comes to looking for land? Like besides hopping on Zillow where should I begin? I’m completely new to all of this since I’ve never purchased property before. I’m especially curious about ways to enter into private agreements for buying land if that is a thing.

we’ve been using https://land.com for Music & Sky research. And yes, if you can setup a contract with the seller, you can do the entire purchase in the private without a mortgage. I know of some peeps who have done this…even setting up a private payment plan that took place of their mortgage.
