deep in my heart
i can feel the song
of my fathers love
sets me dancing back to grace
wrapped up in the arms
of my mothers beauty
i am free from harm
sets me dancing back to grace
weeping for the fallen
with sacramental weight
my beloved teachers
sets me dancing back to grace

Poetry 6 months agoThe modern age a clown world Barnum and Baileys,
The Dawn of Aquarius round the corner karma unveiling,
Ricin laced social customs, gene splicing serums,
Prices going up and dream lives disappearing,
Extreme human rights infringements,
Unrighteous belief systems which keep disciples in fear,
Psychic vampires you won’t catch sight of in mirrors,

Poetry 6 months agoAll cylinders firing
Too many irons In the firestorm,
Trying to find some balance,
Within quagmire and tidal swarms,
Bright Lights Sirens sounding
the horns drowning out the downpour which surrounds him,
Clowns storming the townships,
citadels Swarming with scoundrels
Who pick apart the bones from the carcasses they’ve long lost count of,

Poetry 6 months agoDespite all the violence and chaos,
Within the folds of this matrix,

For the struggles we each face build character and sharpen our wits,
Stones and sticks may break bones…

The innocent one was beaten & bashed
& ridiculed &
not totally smashed.
The Lion within was wounded &
silenced
& shamed &
& ridiculed &
laid to sleep.
I, my own self, has cursed & feared that strength of…

Poetry 12 months agoPoem written by Paul Laurence Dunbar
We wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,–
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.
Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.
We…

Oof, that’s about perfect, and I could’ve never put it so well..
The best is “With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,..” .. that stirred me up.. and as I like to say, “Everyone has a broken heart”.. That’s why it’s so easy to shift to a place of compassion, knowing that everyone is a wounded soul with a broken heart..
When people go on &…

Wow, synchro.. I was just looking at the Poetry group here a couple evenings ago, and reread this poem “Grace”, and saw Ari’s comment and got one of those really strong feelings about it being turned into music, and also thinking I’d like to go back and listen to your songs.. and then you chime in with this confirmation and link.. dang.. And…
