So we have recently purchased a set of Caraway pots and pans and love them. They don’t have the PTFEs and are super quality. Got them discounted at Costco https://www.carawayhome.com/products/deluxe-cookware-set/

I can point you in the direction of Williams Sonoma. You’ll need to sort through a lot of cookware which only has copper on the exterior to find the few pieces which are copper inside and out. They are pricey! Places that sell ayurveda supplies sometimes carry copper kitchenware, so maybe you can find a more affordable option…

High oleic is referring to the fatty acid content. High oleic means it contains at least 80% oleic acid aka monounsaturated/MUFA fat (similar to what is found in olive oil) which technically makes it healthier than standard sunflower oil which is higher in linoleic acid (aka polyunsaturated fat/PUFA) which is more inflammatory. I’m not sure the…

Yes seed oils are inflammatory and thus are not ideal for our health especially in the amounts consumed in our modern diets because they are found in pretty much every processed food and almost every meal you consume from restaurants. I personally would opt for a bread without it myself, but if you don’t eat out or consume any other forms of…

I’d love some clarification on exactly what “high oleic” means…. & how it was produced.
I have 2 great sources for organic, sprouted, natural sourdough breads (& many other products). Very simple ingredients, no oils at all:

Hello! I have been using the silver hills sprouted bread since a couple of years. Recently I heard Barbara mention in one of her videos the company “simple kneads” and so I got their cinnamon raisin and pumpernickel breads to try. One of the ingredients if high oleic sunflower seed oil. Aren’t seed oil bad for us?

We use mostly stainless steel and some cast iron pans for the cooktop. For eggs we use a lot of butter and then they don’t stick. Somehow, different from many other types of fats. Getting the eggs more to room temp helps before putting them in the pan, but same is true of many other things. I subscribe to the Health Home Economist, too! Sarah is…
